OSFMS Scholarship
Annual Scholarship Program
The Old Strathcona Farmers’ Market Society (OSFMS) is excited to announce its annual Scholarship Program!
Up to five scholarships, each valued at $1,000, will be awarded to deserving recipients who embody the market’s core values and demonstrate a commitment to community enrichment.
Who Qualifies?
Alberta Residents enrolled in a valid, Canadian, post-secondary program in the 2025/26 school year.
New applicants must not have previously received an OSFMS scholarship.
Purpose
The OSFMS Scholarship supports students committed to:
Community contribution in their future endeavors.
Promoting OSFMS values, such as fostering small business growth, creativity, innovation, public health, and unique local products that are made, baked, grown, or sold.
Scholarship Categories
Five scholarships are available each year – one for each of the following categories:
- Indigenous applicants
- Arts students
- Individuals new to Canada within the last two years
- Aspiring entrepreneurs making progress toward starting a business
- Those who have overcome significant life challenges and aim to use their experiences to positively impact others
How to Apply
Email the following three items to scholarship@osfm.ca
1. Proof of Enrolment
Official documentation showing your enrolment in a recognized, Canadian, post-secondary institution.
2. Essay
A maximum 750-word essay, answering one of the following questions:
- “How would you like to contribute to your community in your future plans?”
- “How do you promote one or more of OSFMS’s core values?”
Alternative formats (e.g., video or other) may also be accepted at the committee’s discretion.
3. ELIGIBILITY
Proof/documentation of Alberta residency and eligibility for one or more of the five scholarship categories
