Parking Lot Update

Mar 14, 2025 | News & Events

For many years, we have leased the parking lot across the street from the City of Edmonton, allowing us to provide free 2-hour parking to our customers and visitors.

A New Chapter: Parking Changes at Old Strathcona Farmers’ Market

As of Sunday, April 6, 2025, the City of Edmonton will be taking over management of the 83 Ave & Gateway Blvd parking lot (OSFM Parking Lot), bringing an end to the free 2-hour parking we have been able to offer our customers for many years.

We know that most of our customers rely on this lot, and we want to assure you that we did everything we could to advocate for free Saturday parking. Unfortunately, the City of Edmonton has chosen not to renew our lease, and they will be taking over the management of the lot and moving forward with their paid parking model as part of their public realm strategy.

Paid parking for Saturday market customers will officially begin on Saturday, April 12. To help with the transition, the City has agreed to issue warning-only tickets for the first week, giving everyone time to adjust to the change.

The City of Edmonton has provided us with a Q&A document with insights on this change. If you have questions or concerns regarding the parking lot, you must contact the City by calling 311 or emailing epark@edmonton.ca.
