Think you’ve got the best chili recipe in Edmonton? Whether you’re a home cook, a pro chef, or just someone who loves a little friendly competition, this is your chance to prove it!

We’re looking for 20 of the best chili makers to face off in our fiery community showdown. You can compete solo or with a teammate (2 people max per team).

Not competing, but want to witness chili greatness? No problem! Come watch the competition and enjoy live music, fun photo ops, and good vibes
Grab a ticket on location for $10 (cash or card) and enjoy a variety of community-made chilis (outside of the judged competition) and grab a drink!

How it works:

• Chili must be prepared in an AHS-approved kitchen ahead of time and brought cold to the market to be reheated in our kitchen space. Competitors must provide proof (kitchen name and phone number) that they use an AHS-approved kitchen.
• Each competitor will serve their chili to a panel of five prestigious judges who will score based on: Presentation, Taste, Theme, Texture, Uniqueness, and Heat (not too mild, not too wild!)

Competitors may enter one category only:

1. Best Themed Chili – dress up to match your chili’s story.
2. Best International Chili – think global twists (butter chicken chili, anyone?).
3. Best OSFM Ingredient Chili – showcase market ingredients (like Rosy Farms haskap chili!).

Judges will pick one winning chili in each category, and one Judge’s Choice Best Chili.

(Spectators can’t sample the competition chili… unless there are leftovers!)
Doors open to spectators at 5 PM!

This is a friendly, community celebration of local food, flavour, and talent—and you
don’t want to miss it!

Chili Cook-Off Champions wins:
