This season, we were thrilled to continue our partnership with Bike Edmonton to offer Bike Valet at the Old Strathcona Farmers’ Market, making it easier than ever for shoppers to roll up, park securely, and explore everything the market has to offer.
What a year it was! 🚲
Over 1,300 people used the Bike Valet in 2025! From solo riders to families arriving with kids in tow. That’s an incredible leap from just 218 users in 2024. This is proof that our community is embracing more sustainable ways to get to the market. Every ride helped reduce parking congestion and supported a greener, more accessible market experience for everyone. Best of all, it was FREE for customers!
We owe a huge thank-you to Bike Edmonton and their amazing team of dedicated volunteers who made it all possible. Their time, energy, and enthusiasm kept the program running smoothly week after week, and we truly couldn’t have done it without them. Our market day staff also need thanks, as they helped set up and take down the Bike Valet and would run up to bikers to let them know about the free Bike Valet!
Old Strathcona Cycles did a few pop-ups to offer free minor bike tune-ups, which was an amazing value add to the Bike Valet service!
Looking ahead, our goal for next season is to expand Bike Valet to Sundays during market hours. If you’re passionate about cycling and community, Bike Edmonton is looking for volunteers to help make that happen!
